Opelika City Schools Students Shine at National Civics Bee Regional Competition

Opelika City Schools is proud to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of 12 students from Opelika Middle School and Fox Run School who competed in the National Civics Bee regional competition hosted by the Opelika Chamber on april 22, 2026. The students represented Opelika with excellence, demonstrating impressive civic knowledge, leadership, and a strong commitment to their community throughout the competition.
Among the day’s top honorees:
- Emori Holifield earned second place
- Luke Raiford earned third place
- Christian Madzar finished among the top five competitors
We also extend our sincere appreciation to the educators who helped make this opportunity possible. A special thank you goes to Mr. Johnson, Mr. Smythe, and the social studies teachers at Opelika Middle School for their leadership, encouragement, and support as students prepared for and participated in this meaningful event.
We are incredibly proud of each student who competed and grateful for the way they represented Opelika City Schools. Their success reflects the importance of civic learning and the bright future of student leadership in our community.
