Celebrating National Principals Month: Spotlight on Mrs. Ryan McDonald

This October, as we celebrate National Principals Month, we honor Mrs. Ryan McDonald for her 25 years of service to Opelika City Schools.
Her time as principal of West Forest Intermediate School is defined by collaboration and deep compassion for children. “Serving as the principal of West Forest has been one of the greatest honors of my career,” Mrs. McDonald shared. “I have truly loved my time here, and it has been a privilege to work alongside such a dedicated staff and to serve a community that cares so deeply about its children. Most importantly, I want to express how much I love the children of West Forest. They are the heart of this school, and watching them grow, learn, and thrive has brought me immense joy and pride.”
As Mrs. McDonald transitions into her new role as OCS Elementary Curriculum Coordinator, she will now serve all Opelika elementary students, ensuring that excellence and innovation remain at the heart of every classroom across the district.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Mrs. McDonald for her years of leadership and look forward to the incredible impact she will continue to make for our youngest learners districtwide.
