Opelika High School Celebrates the Grand Opening of Newly Renovated Sports Arena

The Opelika High School Sports Arena has a new look. On Monday, January 13, a ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the completion of renovations to the state-of-the-art facility just before the highly anticipated varsity basketball game between Opelika High and Auburn High.
The ceremony and game drew an impressive crowd, including Opelika Mayor Gary Fuller, members of the Opelika City Council, Opelika City Schools Board of Education, Superintendent Dr. Farrell Seymore, and Opelika High School Principal Kelli Fischer. The event celebrated community collaboration and investment in Opelika’s student-athletes.
“These renovations symbolize our dedication to providing the best available facilities for our students,” said Dr. Farrell Seymore, Opelika City Schools Superintendent. “This arena will serve as a hub for athletic excellence and school spirit for years to come. We are deeply grateful for the Mayor and City's support on this project.”
The Opelika Sports Arena renovation is a shared commitment of Opelika City Schools, the City of Opelika, and the broader community to support student-athletes and enhance their experiences on and off the court. The enhanced lighting and updated design elements aim to improve the game-day experience for players and fans.
Opelika High School Principal Kelli Fischer added, “The newly renovated arena is a space where our students and community can come together to celebrate achievements and create memories.”
